Aprilia SRV 850 In Australia This Month: Pricing And Specifications | Reviews | Prices | Australian specifications
Aprilia’s new SRV 850 is the world’s most powerful production scooter; and it goes on sale in Australia this month.
Packing an 839cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-stroke engine with a handy 55kW of power and 76Nm of torque, it’s little wonder the Italian bike-builder claims the SRV will do 200km/h.
Aprilia describes the SRV 850 as an “ultra-high performance scooter, the meeting point between the scooter world and the motorcycle world”, and there’s plenty of mechanical evidence to back that claim.
To begin with, Aprilia will no longer offer the Mana 850 “twist and go” motorcycle in Australia, so the SRV 850 has some big boots to fill.
Where the Mana was arguably a motorcycle aimed at scooter riders, the SRV 850 is a scooter aimed at any two-wheeled fan.
Besides the 839cc engine, the SRV also boasts ABS and traction control; the latter can be adjusted by the rider while on the move.
Power is fed to the rear wheel via a CVT automatic transmission. The rear wheel is 15-inch while the front wheel is 16-inch.
The 250kg dry weight is brought to a halt by twin 300mm discs up front and a single 280mm disc at the rear. Fuel tank capacity is 18.5 litres.
Expect the SRV 850 to be strong sales competition for other leading maxi-scooters, including the Honda Integra NC700, Yamaha’s updated T-Max 530 and the BMW C 650 GT.
