Triumph Daytona 675R all-new breed of awesome
Things that are awesome and have British origins: Shakespeare, Paddington Bear, The Beatles, Bentleys, Yorkshire pudding, James Bond, Wimbledon, cricket, Harry Potter and, of course, Triumph Motorcycles. And the list goes on.Under the subheading of Triumph, an all-new breed of awesome has arrived: the Daytona 675R. It’s a track-ready bike that has the sex appeal of a Bond Girl but the performance of a professional football a.k.a. soccer player. Insert David Beckham here. The Daytona 675 was first introduced in 2006, with its 675 cc, three-cylinder engine. Since then, it has won its fair share of awards — both on and off the track — and has certainly won the hearts of many owners all over the world. It has been on my “must test” list for as long as I can remember and have awaited the day of our encounter with bated breath. That day arrived. It was glorious.Equipped with a brand new engine, new frame, bodywork and more, this fine piece of British machinery has what it takes to make people swoon. Its Crystal White/Jet Black body colouring — with a splash of red — effortlessly blend with its carbon fibre cladding. Cockpit infills, a rear hugger and a front mudguard have the weave-like pattern to it, making it immediately recognizable as something that’s both strong and lightweight.
